WHAT I DO

  • Therapeutic success comes from the relationship between therapist and client, not just the method. I focus on existentialism, systems theory, feminism, and Freud. Specializing in trauma, justice system involvement, and sex worker support, I offer a judgment-free space. Finding the right therapist is essential for your journey.

  • I gauge success by the questions my students leave with. My clinical work, research, and teaching experiences, from maximum-security prisons to the Houses of Parliament, underscore the importance of connection. I aim to challenge and support students, fostering a collaborative environment that values their unique contributions and bridges individual perspectives with established knowledge.

  • My academic research stems from my early clinical work with incarcerated and behaviorally disordered adolescents, where I witnessed the cyclical relationship between trauma, violence, and mental health.

Frustrated by the systemic failings in supporting these individuals, I shifted my focus to research, aiming to enhance interventions through implementation science.

My doctoral work on Functional Family Therapy deepened my understanding of how evidence is constructed, highlighting the influence of bias and conflicts of interest. I am committed to ensuring that research drives meaningful, evidence-based change for individuals and communities.

  • I help media projects portray mental health accurately, tackling harmful stereotypes. From reviewing scripts to clarifying diagnoses and laws, I ensure realistic and compassionate depictions. My goal is to improve societal understanding and reduce stigma through accurate, informed portrayals in TV, film, and podcasts.
